	Brian Dennehy Born: July 9, 1938 He left his junior year at Columbia University to join the Marine Corps. He served five years in the Corps, including tours of duty in the U.S., Japan, and Korea. Contrary to some stories, he did not see combat and was not wounded. He has starred in over 40 feature films and numerous TV movies. He has also become a writer, producer, and director.
	BRADFORD DILLMAN ACTOR Born in San Francisco on April 14, 1930. He attended Yale where he graduated with a B.A. in English Literature. Following college he served with the U.S. Marines in Korea (1951-1953) before focusing on acting as a profession.
	David Dinkins Former New York City Mayor Dinkins was born in Trenton, New Jersey, in 1927. His family had come from the South the previous year after pulling up roots in Newport News, Virginia. During Dinkins early childhood, his parents separated, and he and his younger sister went with their mother to start a new life in Harlem. He returned to Trenton to attend high school, then went on to Howard University. His studies were interrupted by World War II, during which he served in the Marines.
	Dale Dye October 8, 1944 Author Actor DALE DYE was born October 8, 1944 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He graduated as a cadet officer from Missouri Military Academy and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in January 1964. He served in Vietnam in 1965 and 1967 through 1970, participating in 31 major combat operations, earning several decorations, including three Purple Hearts. In 1976 Dye was selected to attend Officer Candidate School and received an appointment as a Warrant Officer. He later was awarded a commission as a Captain when he was assigned to Beirut with the Multinational Peacekeeping Force in 1982-83. After his retirement from the USMC, Dye accepted a position with Soldier of Fortune Magazine, traveling to El Salavador and Nicaragua, reporting, and training troops in guerrilla warfare tactics. His military decorations include the Bronze Star with "V" for Valor, three Purple Hearts, the Meritorious Service Medal, Two Navy Commendation Medals with Combat "V" Devices, the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat "V" Device, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Vietnamese Honor Medal 1st Class, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
